The Big Questions
How does Bixby interact on different devices? What makes a good conversation?
Depending on the device, Bixby responds with a mix of modalities (voice, graphics, haptics). Designing context appropriate dialog that aligns with how people use a certain device is a core part of my role.
Common Design Problems & Solutions
"I don't understand"
Error handling is an art form. Knowing how and when to deflect or to continue a conversation is what separates good voice assistants from great ones.
Bridging the gap
My international team sits at the intersection of product, strategy and development, so I am constantly juggling ideal solutions with realistic timelines.
Patterns & personality
I streamline familiar dialog patterns and components across devices + contexts, ensuring that Bixby sounds consistent no matter what is asked.
How I'm improving Bixby
Designing multimodal interactions
across mobile, watch, TV, and Family Hub that utilize voice and text.
Establishing design practices
by defining interaction flows, Large Language Model limitations, prompt patterns, and persona design.
Leading user tests
from use cases such as app selection improvements to error scenarios across device ecosystems
Conceptualizing new frameworks
for how Bixby can be more proactive, personalized, and efficient in achieving users' goals.
